Scott Joseph Bull, age 56, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully on June 10,2026 at Harmony Care Facility in West Des Moines Iowa.


Scott was born to Kenneth and Margo Bull on September 14, 1969, in Postville, Iowa where Margo grew up. For the first 7 years of his life, Scott lived in Waterloo, Iowa. At that time, his family was relocated to Detroit, Michigan where Scott made many friends. He graduated from Lee M. Thurston High School in 1988, where he played trumpet in the band, as well as playing on the hockey team.


After high school, Scott focused on his career in both hardware and software, pursuing many different positions within the IT world. He worked on the Alaskan pipeline for a couple of years and spent time in Arkansas and San Antonio, Texas before relocating back to Des Moines, where he has spent the last 14 years working for Wells Fargo.


Scott was an animal lover having both dogs and cats growing up. His best companion for the last several years has been a rescue cat named Azzy.


Scott’s kindness and humor have touched and brightened many lives.


Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents Clark and Rilla Bull and Arnold “Shorty” and Kate Cassell as well as his parents, Kenneth Bull and Margo Heath.


He is survived by his sister, Andrea Johannes (Steve Gengler); nephews Conan (Kelsey) Poppe and Erik Poppe; niece Katheryn (Corey) Howden; great nephews Henry and Loyd Howden; two uncles, an aunt, and four cousins.


A remembrance gathering will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, June 16 at Brooks Funeral Care, 2135 SW 9th St, Des Moines, Ia 50315 with a Celebration of Life following at 7 PM.


In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Furry Friends Refuge (www.furryfriendsrefuge.org) a local no-kill animal shelter.
