Rita Jo Ballard, 61, passed away on January 5, 2023. A funeral service will be held at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive, IA on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
Rita was born on November 18, 1961, to Hattie Green in Chicago, IL. She attended Whistler Elementary school and received her high school diploma from Fenger high school where she met Roosevelt Randle, the father of her children. Rita loved to dance and make the people and her life happy. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren more than anything. She will be remembered for her big heart, unconditional love, bubbly personality, and funny jokes. She was loved by many and will truly be missed.
Rita is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Ballard; life partner, Walonda Delaney; and best friend, Princess Hubbard
Rita is survived by her husband, Winfred Hubbard; children, Roosevelt Ballard, Rosalyn Ballard, Roshonda Randle, Ronita Randle, Rita Randle, and Ariyanna Delaney; siblings, Debra Barron, Linda Ballard, Amanda Green, Sharon Green, and Perry Green; and many grandchildren.
