Naomi "Nome" Paullus

Naomi “Nome” Paullus, 73, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.


Naomi Louise Iverson was born in Des Moines, Iowa on September 23, 1946; she was the daughter of Lester and Lucille (Warnar) Iverson. The family moved to Des Moines where Naomi attended High School at East High.


Naomi was united in marriage to Herbert “Butch” Scrowther and they were blessed with two children. They later divorced but remained friends. Naomi worked at Principal Financial in Des Moines, was a Para at school, and retired from Whylie Eye Care in Des Moines, Iowa. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with her card group, crafting, and spending time with her family. Naomi, like her sister will be remembered for her “HUGS”.


Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dennis (Debbie) Scrowther and Dana Scrowther both of Des Moines, grandchildren, Tamra Summy, Jared Scrowther, and Olivia Scrowther.

In death Naomi rejoins her parents, Lester and Lucille Iverson, husband, Gordon Paullus, and siblings Dixie Houge and Terry Iverson.


She will be missed by all of her loving friends and extended family.


Services and burial are pending for Naomi and will be announced when finalized. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
