Margaret Reed (Maggie), 104, passed away December 4, 2023 at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny.
Margaret Barbara (Forbes) Reed was born August 2, 1919 in Des Moines, the daughter of Loren and Daisy (Reese) Forbes.
Margaret served in the WAVES during World War Two.
Margaret is survived by her son Steve and wife Laurel of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Zachary (Britney) of Las Vegas, NV and Lindsey of Dallas, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace, and her son, Michael.
Margaret was a member of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny, where services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 beginning with the Rosary at 10:15 AM, followed by visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. The church is located at 510 East 1st Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50021.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church or to St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
