Marcelyn May Churchill went home to be with Jesus on February 20, 2022. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25th, at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26th, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Des Moines.
Marcelyn was born May 1, 1939, in Farnhamville/Lohrville, Iowa to Edward and Dorothea (Vogel) Green. She married Clayton Churchill April 16, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rockwell City, Iowa. Marcelyn retired in 1992 from MidAmerican Energy. Later in life she worked for Home Instead Senior Care.
Marcelyn loved her Lord and church. She also loved her family and grandchildren. Other interests included the Hawkeyes, Cubs, any sports, card making, quilting, and being an all-around craft lady.
She leaves her sons: Robert (Mary) and Lary (Wendy); her grandchildren: Hunter, Noah, Austin, Michael, and Kiefer; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, son Marc, parents Ed and Dorothea Green, sisters Lorraine and Carolyn, and brother Maurice.
