Laura Ingram, 92, passed away on April 21, 2026, in West Des Moines, IA of heart disease.


She was born at home in Ottumwa, IA to Mervle and Janet Baker. She married Thomas Daniels in 1950 and had 3 children, Tim, Tom, and Cindy. Her husband Tom died tragically at a young age.


She later married Winston Cannon in 1959 and had one child, Mishell. They all initially lived together in Des Moines IA, eventually moving to a small acreage at St. Charles in 1970. She was a homemaker first. She also held various jobs. She worked at John Wayne birthplace museum and assisted Winston with their sheet metal business. After a divorce she later married Clifford Ingram. They lived on his farm in St. Charles area. Laura enjoyed painting and belonged to Winterset Art Center. She won several ribbons for her paintings at the Iowa State fair.


Gardening and flowers were also her life. She spent 30 years traveling to Arizona every winter and enjoyed every minute. You could find her dancing on Saturday or Sunday evenings at Lake Robbins Ball room. She loved to dance. After the passing of her beloved husband Cliff, she found companionship and joy in later years with Ray and later Cal.


She was preceded in death by her 3 husbands, her parents, 1 stepchild, 1 sister and 3 brothers.

She is survived by 4 children, Tom Daniels (Cindy), Tim Daniels (Patty), Cindy Brumbelow (Walt), Mishell Cannon (Brenda). 5 stepchildren, John, Chris, Gary, Sheryl, and Nancy, 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, along with 8 great - great grandchildren.


A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Care, 2135 SW 9th St., Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., where loved ones will come together to honor and celebrate a life so dearly cherished.
