Jackson Elbert Gallentine

Updated: Mar 9, 2024

Jackson Elbert Gallentine was a kind and generous soul. He was born on February 21st, 1999, in Yankton, South Dakota. From there his family moved to Waterloo, Iowa. When Jackson was four years old his family moved to West Des Moines and has resided there since. Jackson graduated from Valley High School and studied at Iowa State University.

Jackson was selfless, caring and enjoyed taking care of his family and animals. He is best known for his thoughtfulness, beautiful personality, and the smiles he brought to everyone around him. He was a very talented artist, both with a pencil and his singing voice, loved history and being with his family.  Special places for Jackson included spending time at Grandma Donna’s, visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo, and the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge.

He loved crocheting and gifting his creations to his loved ones to show how much he cared. He loved being outside, reading, his bunny Luna and playing Pokémon games with friends and family. He gave back to others by volunteering at multiple animal shelters and teaching children with special needs.

Jackson will be forever mourned and cherished for his time spent here, by his mom Teresa Gallentine (Ross Eoriatti), sisters Makayla and Chelsea, his loving grandparents, his aunts, cousins, and friends.

Jackson departed this earth on March 4th, 2024.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 11 am at the Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines with a lunch to follow. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
