Gage Schwarck

Gage Michael Schwarck unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Gage was born to parents Mark Schwarck and Alyssa Taylor on June 30th, 1998.

Gage’s family and friends remember him as a loving, kindhearted young man.  He was sensitive, caring, and always concerned about other people’s wellbeing before his own.  If anyone needed support or motivation, Gage was always there to cheer them on in any way he could. He cherished spending time with his family, including his friends, whom he loved as if they were family. Gage was an animal lover, and his pets held a special place in his heart. Gage enjoyed playing video games like Apex and trout fishing; he and his father had a special hidden spot where they liked to go with just the boys. He loved listening to music and was an Iowa Hawkeye fanatic. He most enjoyed watching the games with his father. Gage’s prized possession was his truck. He worked incredibly hard to earn that responsibility and was extremely proud of that personal milestone.

Gage is survived by his mother, Alyssa Taylor, his stepmother Bri Schwarck, his sisters Cali O’Connor and Rya Schwarck, his brothers Mason Taylor and Zander Schwarck, his grandparents Rod and Sharon Hanson, his grandparents David and Janie Schwarck, his grandparents Timothy and Sharon Schenk, his great-grandparents Paul and Catherine Schwarck, his great grandmother MaryAnn Cunningham-Fleming, and his numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and his two nephews. Gage is preceded in death by his father, Mark Schwarck.

A celebration of life will be held on December 20th at the Merle Hay Chapel, located at 4400 Merle Hay Rd. in Des Moines, IA from 5-7pm in Gage’s honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the fundraiser listed below.
