Dale Williamson

Dale Robert Williamson, 63 of Grimes, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022.



Dale was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to parents Mike and Carolyn (Smiley) Williamson. After high school, he joined the Navy and later transferred into the Air Force to become an Aircraft Environmental Systems Mechanic. He was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, and the Air Force Training Ribbon.


Dale enjoyed fishing, restoring antiques, and sitting on the back deck each morning with his Daughter and their 4 cats. Sharing stories of his past and looking for dragonflies while naming all the aircraft that flew above. He loved the beach, the ocean, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His motto was “to not sweat the small stuff as life is too short”.


He was a simple man who didn’t need much. He enjoyed helping the homeless and giving

back whenever he was in a position to do so. His daughters, his grandson, and his sister meant the world to him.


He is preceded in death by his mother and father Mike and Carolyn Williamson. He is survived by his daughter Tigre (Matt) Leichliter of Grimes, IA, daughter TyAnn Ellis of Vicksburg, MS, grandson Taren Leichliter of Grimes, IA, and a sister Jane (David) Adams of Glendora, CA, a nephew Jonathan (Amanda) Adams of Post Falls, ID and many more special family.


A private service will take place at a later date in Van Meter, IA at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
