Beverly Jo Goldman, age 95, passed away peacefully at Calvin Senior Living Community in Des Moines on Sunday, November 24, 2024, surrounded by family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Beverly was born in Creston on April 5th, 1929. She always loved to sing and won many contests and awards as a soloist as well as participating in choirs. She lived in West Des Moines most of her life. In 1949 she married the love of her life, John Richard Goldman. She was a homemaker and active in the Jordan house, Volkssport and her local AARP chapter.
Those left to cherish Beverly’s memory are her daughter Ruth (Kirk) Green of Urbandale and granddaughters Melissa Hanrahan (Ryan) of Prole and Sarah Green-Blodgett (John) of Omaha and great-granddaughter Nora. Also, Beverly’s son Timothy (Shellie) of West Des Moines and granddaughter Angela Wegerzyn (Daniel) of Roxboro, North Carolina, and great-granddaughters Abby Jo and Patricia and great-grandson Casimir; and grandson Dan (Kelly) Goldman of Urbandale and great-granddaughter Grace and great-grandson, Isaac. In addition, Beverly’s brother, Terry Thompson (Sharon) of The Villages, Florida. Additional loved ones honoring Beverly’s memory are many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Goldman, mother and father Ruth and Truman Thompson, sister, Colleen McCullough, son, Joel Goldman and great-grandson, Owen Hanrahan.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5th at 10:00 AM at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church (1020 24th Street in West Des Moines). Inurnment will be at Resthaven Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Calvin Senior Living Community for their love and care of Beverly during the past seven years as well as Suncrest Hospice Services.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church.
