Verna Mae Draper Osborn, 84, died on July 18, 2008 of complications from a stroke at the Kavanagh House on Grand Avenue.

Memorial Services will be Sunday, August 3, at 4 p.m. at Grace West Church, 6820 Ashworth Rd, West Des Moines, IA.

Verna was born on August 10, 1923, in Seymour, Iowa to Arthur and Anna Sager. She began her career as a teacher in a country school. After moving to the Des Moines area, she worked at Look Magazine before retiring from Principal Financial Group after many years of service. Verna enjoyed reading, watching the Game Show Network, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters Deanna Patrick of Sunnyvale, CA, Geri (Ken) VanDeventer, and Peggy (Chuck) Warrick both of Urbandale as well as stepchildren; Gean Wolfe of Wildomar, CA, Dick Draper of Des Moines, Larry (Judy) Osborn of Des Moines, Gary (Carolyn) Osborn of Ankeny and Kenny (Debbie) Osborn of Newton. Also surviving are brothers, Ralph (Karen) Sager of Ham Lake, MN and Leroy (Betty) Sager of Brownsburg, IN, as well as many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
