Velzora F. Miklus, 85, died on March 4, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 11 at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel, 7975 University Blvd, Clive. Burial will be at a later date in Ankeny Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Velzora was born in Des Moines and had worked as a nursing home cook until retirement. She enjoyed cooking, working on crafts, and treasured time with her family.

She will be missed by her two sons, Tom, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Martin of Des Moines; 4 daughters, Olivia Enger and husband, Oliver of Richardson, TX, Georgette Schutte of Des Moines, Elizabeth King and husband, Dwight of Naples, FL and Teri Bejarno of Scottsdale, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Thomas F. Miklus, Sr.; her parents; son, Jerry; and grandson, Brent Todd.
