Thomas L. Clark Thomas Lee Clark, 72, passed Wednesday evening at Mercy Hospital. Thomas "Tom" Clark was born in Des Moines to Frances and Dale Clark on September 18, 1936. He was a graduate of North High School in Des Moines. After High School, he joined the Army and served in Korea during the Conflict. In 1959, upon return to Des Moines after his service duty, he met and married Mary Gates of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They raised four daughters. He drove truck for 44 years. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Des Moines. He was an avid reader and enjoyed driving across country to visit friends and family. Tom is survived by his four daughters, Terri Torrence (Larry) of Johnston, Sandra Carmichael (Jeff) of Urbandale, Penni Epping (Jerry) of Des Moines and Kari Clark and her companion Jay Lenihan, of Des Moines. He is survived by his brothers Donald Clark (Shirley) of Colorado, Robert Clark (Candace) of Des Moines, sisters Judy Andreas (John) of Des Moines, Vicky Aschbacher (Del) of Urbandale and Cathy Clark of Florida. He is also survived by Grandsons Justin Carmichael, Matthew Torrence, granddaughters Alex Carmichael, and Maddi Epping, and many nieces and nephews. He loved his girls, his "adopted" kids and he loved his friends at the Eagles Aerie. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary. A gathering to celebrate his life is planned for Friday, March 28, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 6567 Bloomfield Road, Des Moines, Iowa.
