Myrtle C. Rumelhart
Myrtle was born May 16, 1911, to Edward M. and Ida Mae (Mains) Coleman at the family home in Glendon, Iowa. She married Troy W. Rumelhart on October 16, 1927. To this union, eight children were born. Myrtle was an active member of the Open Bible Church and the Royal Neighbors. Myrtle loved to be with her family, do things with her church family, be in the garden, cook, bake and play cards. Many hours were spent making the hundreds of quilts that many of us enjoy today and will for some time. She was the happiest doing things for others never once thinking about herself. Preceding Myrtle in death were her parents; son, Fredy, in 1941; husband, Troy, in 1983; youngest son, David, in 1995; two brothers; and a sister. She will be missed by daughters, Freda (Jerry) Thompson of Des Moines, IA; Norma Crandall of Adams, MA; and Beverly Conley of Malad, ID; sons, Robert (Sandra) of Victoria, TX, Jim (Pam) of Waukee, IA, Roger (Loretta) of Coon Rapids, IA and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa or The New Homestead in Guthrie Center. Arrangements are being made by Brooks Funeral Care, Clive, Iowa. |
