Jess J. Richardson, 86, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2008, at NBA Ramsey Home. Memorial services will be held graveside at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa.

Jess was born September 13, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended North High School and served in the Army's 113th and 125th Red Horse Divisions and in their Europe Theatre. He was a conductor for the Rock Island Railroad for thirty-five years.

Jess is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy, many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa, 401 Railroad Place, West Des Moines, IA 50265.
