Betty Madeline
Dexter

Betty Madeline (Beane) Davis was born in Adel, Iowa on March 4, 1929 to Tom and Ruth (Brown) Beane. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on July 2, 2008. Services will be Saturday July 5 at the Dexter Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. where the family will greet friends at 9 a.m. prior to the service.

She grew up in the Puckerbrush area and graduated from Van Meter High School in 1946. On September 16, 1954 she married Dorr Davis who was the love of her life. This union was blessed with three children, Mary Pat, Tom, and Helen Rose. She worked at the Dexter Clinic Hospital, Northwest Hospital in Des Moines and Iowa Methodist Hospital until her retirement in 1993. Betty was a witty and humorous person who could also show a bit of stubbornness for her Scotch Irish heritage.

Betty loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was an avid animal lover and loved Rascal and Kona Rose. She loved to cook and bake and was known for her sour cream raisin pie.

She was involved in her church and was over joyed at the completion of the fellowship hall. She was preceded in death by her husband Dorr, daughter Mary Pat, brother Carroll Beane, sister Margaret Eloise Feller, nephew Daniel Beane and her parents.

She is survived by her son Tom (Barb) Davis of Stuart, daughter Helen (Kelly) Forshier of Dexter. Grandchildren Eli (Anna) Davis of Polk City, Tyler Forshier and fiancé Tonya of Syracuse, NY, Jennifer Rude of Waukee. Great grandchildren Alexis Monte, and Ashlyn of Polk City. Beloved family friend Dyan Schaffer of Des Moines. And her dog Rascal and grand dog Kona Rose.

Betty loved a good laugh and her hybrid irises. She will be missed by all but she is with the love of her life, Dorr who she never stopped missing. A special thanks to Theressa, Angie and Krista with Hospice of Central Iowa (Dallas County). And heartfelt gratitude to Tonya Otto and family, Jane Findley and Shelley Muhm for the love and kindness they shared
