Rosina "Mama Rosa" Tumea

Mama RosaRosina "Mama Rosa" (Baglio) Tumea, 94, died February 10, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Rosina was born October 22, 1913 in Villa Priolo, Italy the youngest of 13 children. She was married to Salvatore Tumea on September 17, 1932 for 57 years. They raised a family in Sicili and moved to the United States in 1960 where she worked as a seamstress at Franklin Clothes Company.

Rosina was a member of the Society Italian American Auxiliary and St. Anthony Church.

After retirement, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family. Rosina made the cucci for the St. Lucy Celebration.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore Tumea in 1989; son-in-law, Salvatore Danca in 1999; daughter-in-law, Lucretia Tumea in 2002; grandson, Salvatore Tumea in 2002; and son-in-law, Charles Bevilauqua in 2003.

Those left to honor her memory are daughters, Maria Bevilauqua of Nevada, Lucy (John) Cosenza, and Nancy Danca; sons, Joe (Sheryl) Tumea of Des Moines, Tony (Joyce) Tumea of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with a 5:30 p.m. Rosary at Brooks Funeral Care - Tonini Chapel.

She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.
