Robert Dean Norris was born on June 24, 1938 in Trenton, MO to Robert Bud and Lucille (Bosley) Norris.  He graduated from Des Moines Tech in 1957.  He was married to Frances Miller and then married Marilynn (Catron) Edler in 1970.  Robert was a retired Bakery Manager for Hy-Vee Food Stores.  He enjoyed the activities of his grandchildren, Paul’s racing and gambling.

Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his parents.  Surviving is his wife, Marilynn; sons, Gordon (Sheila) Norris of Nathale, VA, Robert (Lisa) Norris of Colo, David (Libby) Norris of Toano, VA, Tommy Norris of Prior Lake, MN, Mark Edler of Altoona, Paul (Nancy) Edler of Cambridge; daughters, Susan (Joe) Pinkston of Pocola, OK, Cindy (Ernie) Walker of Des Moines, Teresa (Reed) Hiemstra of Baxter; brothers, Joe (Sue) Norris of Urbandale, Larry (Linda) Watson of Waukee; sister Gwen Harden of Des Moines; twenty-five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He will be missed.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26 at the Jasper County Fairgrounds in Colfax.
