Robert L. Fallis
Robert was born on October 29, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa and attended North High School. In his younger days, he loved to roller skate which led him to playing hockey. Some would say he and his hockey buddies were the founding fathers of Des Moines Hockey in the late 50s and early 60s. Robert served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from Iowa Concrete Block after 40 years of service. Robert loved to play golf and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas upon retirement to enjoy many years of golfing with family and friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #98 serving as Past Exalted Ruler and District Deputy. He was a member of the Home Builder’s Association of Greater Des Moines. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed going to Wrigley Field and sitting in the bleachers with all the bleacher bums. He loved attending the Iowa Hawkeyes football and Des Moines Buccaneers Hockey games, and playing pool at the Lodge of Ashworth. Robert is survived by his son, Mark Fallis (Mykle); granddaughters, Jennifer Logan (Jason) and Stephanie Fallis; brother Clayton (Rose) Fallis of Ankeny; companion, Beverly Chase; stepchildren, Brad Schnee (Maureen) and granddaughter, Elizabeth; Brian Schnee (Lauri) and granddaughter Trisha Grissom and great grandchildren, Tyler & Kassidy; Shelley Tungesvick (Steve) and grandchildren Jessica and Luke; and Roxanne Lundwig (Rick) and granddaughter, Anna. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Gladys; brother, Willard (Virginia) and; wives, Twyla Belvel, Joann Schnee, and Vantia Friar and stepchild, Shonda Maudlin, living are Shonda’s children, Robert Maudlin, Holly Maudlin, Sean Maudlin and Gabrielle Maudlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. |
