Madeline Dorothy Duprez, 95, passed peacefully at Mercy Hospice Johnston on March 8, 2008. Madeline’s wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service is planned for the spring.  Madeline was born on October 7, 1912, in Waukee and lived there the majority of her life. 

In July 1933, she married Ernest L. Duprez, her husband for 50 years.  She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and calligraphy and was also a world traveler.  She loved seeing countries, meeting new people, learning their customs, and sharing her travels with others.  In her 70s & 80s, her travels included parasailing in the Patia Beach, Thailand, and scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

Madeline will be missed by her three daughters, Karla Abel (Charles) of Papillion, NE; Josette Peterson (Donald) of Marshalltown, IA; and Nanette Brittain (William) of Waukee, IA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; two sisters; and one brother.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice Johnson.
