Maurice 'Maury' Cooper, 86, died on February 28, 2008 at Prime Tower Nursing and Rehab. in Des Moines.

He was born on June 24, 1921 in Marshall, IL to Oscar and Grace (Hodges) Cooper. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and served in the US Army during WWII. Maury had worked for 31 years at EMC Insurance. He was Sr. Vice President of Underwriting and retired in 1991. He was united in marriage to Patricia Bonner on March 8, 1985.

He will be missed by his wife, Pat; sons, Brian (Becki) and Alan; grandchildren, Melissa (Chad) Cribari, Chadwick (Nani), Nickolas (Holly), Taylor, Benjamin and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Cameron Cribari, Jacob and Alex Cooper. He was preceded in death by his brother, Max; sister, Gene; his first wife, June and his grandson, Bee Jay.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd., Clive, Iowa. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
