Lela Mae Janish, 87, died January 23, 2008. Lela graduated from North High School in 1939. She married July 1, 1941 and moved to California. Lela returned to Des Moines in the mid-70s.

Lela was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Dale E. Janish of Anaheim, CA; sister, Leona Sutton; brother, Earl W. Sutton; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering to honor Lela will be held Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 3700 Cottage Grove, Des Moines.
