Helen Lorentzen, passed away on February 28 at the Boone County Hospital.

Helen was born on March 2, 1928 to James and Della (McVicker) Pepper in Des Moines.

She attended Jordan schools. On March 4, 1946 she married Eldon James Weber in Ogden. To this union three children were born, Lucinda Louise (Cindy Lou), Zereda Marie and James Eldon Weber. She resided for six years in Arizona, and after her husband’s death, she and the children returned to Boone. In 1964 she married John Lorentzen at Coon Rapids with the Reverend Jerry Evelsizer officiating. She worked at Deuel Drug and later at the Boone County Hospital.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Eldon James Weber and sister, Ruth Wirth.

She is survived by her husband, John Lorentzen of Boone; son, James Eldon Weber of Ames; daughters, Cindy (John) Schneiderman of Marshalltown, Zereda Marie (Don) Groomes of Nevada; stepson, Dan Lorentzen of Garner and stepdaughter, Jean Olson on Boone; brother, Bob Pepper (Etta Phipps); five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 3 at Central Christian Church in Boone with Pastor Paul Frazer and Reverend Jerry Evelsizer officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Iowa Hospice, or Boone County Humane Society.
