Frank Harold Baumgartner, 86, of 3537 Dunham Dr. SW, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in his home following a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, First Congregational Church Chapel, Cedar Rapids. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Manchester.

Frank was born April 24, 1921, in High Amana, Iowa. He graduated from Amana Schools. He served three years in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was employed by Northwestern Bell and US West until retiring.

Frank married Darlene Hamblin on Sept. 6, 1945. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; three children, Rebecca Franks, Randall (Cheryl) Baumgartner and Victoria Aarhus Brown; two grandchildren, Danny (Heather) Franks and Nathan (Lisa) Aarhus; and three great-grandchildren, Abby and Zander Franks and Lillian Aarhus.
