Doretha Frances Klein died February 26, 2008 at the age of 90. A life-long Pella resident, Doretha was born September 4, l917 to Gertrude (Van Ommen) and Benjamin Vogelaar at the family farm east of Pella, Iowa. She graduated from Pella High School in 1935. On June 16, 1938 she married Robert J. (Bob) Klein.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband Bob; her children: Sandra Heerema and her husband Bruce of Pella, Robert Vogelaar (Bobby) Klein of Pella, and Pam Wheeler of Irvine, California; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Carl (Joan) Vogelaar of Santa Rosa, California; and her sister, Ruth (John) Vander Waal of St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ackerman, and twin brother Bernard. A celebration of Doretha’s life will be held at a later date.
