Charles W. Phillips, 86, died Feb. 28, 2008, at Osceola Nursing and Rehab. Memorial services were March 4, 2008, at Osceola United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Interment was at the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Phillips was born in Carson and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He had been a farmer for many years.

He will be missed by his children, Linda Fenton of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Ivan Dale Phillips and wife Julita of Arleta, Calif., and Mary Ann Phillips of Brooklyn Park; brother, Geary Phillips and wife Ann of Osceola; sisters, Elva Downing of Osceola and Vada Wickliff and husband Harold of Newton; grandsons, Tracy Fenton of Creston and Stacy Fenton of Osceola; special friends, Anna Frohling and husband Steve and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Lydia McReynolds Phillips; wife, Geraldine; brother, Lloyd Phillips; sister, Roberta Schultz and brothers-in-law, Donald Dale and Arlan Downing.
