Anna Latrice Mortellaro, 94, died January 26, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Anna was born September 25, 1913 in Centerville, Iowa to Charles and Anna Campo Latrice. Her family moved from Centerville, IA to Springhill, IA when she was about four years old. The family lived in Springhill for ten years before moving to Des Moines in 1927. Anna married Joseph Mortellaro on April 16, 1941 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Des Moines. She retired form Younkers Warehouse in 1978.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, spending time with grandchildren and taking care of stray animals. Her kindness and generosity will be remembered by all!

Anna will be missed by her two daughters, Janet Marquis and JoAnn Miller; four grandchildren, Michael (Sheri) Marquis, David Marquis, Gina (Steve) Andre' and Alan (Piper) Marquis; eight great-grandchildren, Mariah Marquis, Skyler Marquis, Joseph Andre', Marcus Andre', Talia Marquis, Isabelle Marquis, Chloe Marquis and Boden Marquis; sister, Sara Mays, all of Des Moines, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brother, Anthony Latrice; and two sisters, Mary Latrice and Teresa Cataldo.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., Wednesday, with a Rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Care - Tonini Chapel.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
