Rolf Knapp, 80, of Ankeny died on November 9, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Lutheran Church of the Cross (1701 8th St) in Altoona.

Mr. Knapp was born on August 14, 1927 in Esslingen, Germany. He and his wife, Rosalinde immigrated to the United States in 1955 following his military service in World War II. Rolf retired from the Bosch Corporation as a Regional Manager in the automotive division after 40 years of service. He had a passion for playing the diatonic accordion instrument and spending his vacation time traveling with his family.

Rolf is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosalinde; daughter, Patricia Fouts (Jon) of Bondurant; four grandchildren, Brendon Iler, Melissa Knapp, Jordan Fouts, and Sydney Fouts; sister, Anni Lechner of Esslingen, Germany; sister-in-laws, Annlise Rost of Stuttgart, Germany and Alberta Parkinson of Trussville, Alabama.
