Phillip Maurice Countryman was born October 16, 1938 in Sterling, Colorado and resided in Des Moines for the past 39 years. He passed away October 22, 2007.

He was a shop teacher at Washington Irving Jr. High and McCombs Middle School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Charles Countryman; brother, David Countryman and an infant son.

Surviving family members include his wife of 43 years, Norma; sons, David (Ann) Countryman of Waukee and Joseph (Mia) Countryman of Des Moines; grandchildren, Sylvia and Jasper of Des Moines and his brother, Steve of Bellingham, WA.

A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2007 at First Assembly of God on Merle Hay Road.
