Patricia Ann Ballard, 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil. Interment will be at Green Castle Cemetery.

Patricia enjoyed quilting, having made many baby quilts for family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, cards, dominos, but especially loved going to dinner with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Patricia was a registered nurse in the Des Moines area for 25 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Diann "Susie" (Mike) Medici of Ankeny, IA, and Lisa Ballard of Iowa City, IA; 6 grandchildren, Michael Medici, Kristan Medici, Wren Ballard, Ky Ballard, Pax Ballard and Blue Ballard; three brothers, Bob Runyan of Arlington, VA, Eugene Runyan of South Bend, IN and John Runyan of Montezuma, IA; two sisters, Marilynn Thornton of Iowa Falls, IA and Betty Jane Partridge of Kansas City, MO; two step-sisters Pegee Bartling of Storm Lake, IA and Patty Lou Nichols of Knoxville, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Richard, and her parents Edna and Henry Runyan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation or to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
