LaVon Irene Krekow, 88, died on December 10, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

Private graveside services will be at Remsen Cemetery. LaVon was born on January 20, 1919 in Hartley, Iowa.

She will be missed by her daughters, Sonja Smith and Mary Clair and her husband John; grandchildren, Ann (Matt) Hanson, Laurie Hollingsworth and her husband Clyde Birks; Isaac Clair; great- grandchildren, Katherine and Caleb Hanson, Morgan Hollingsworth, and Hannah Birks.
