Janet Armentrout, 69, went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2007 after losing a battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, at 11 a.m. at Berean Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill.

Janet was born on June 11, 1938, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Her parents were Ralph and Dorothy Petermeier of Melbourne, Iowa. She grew up in Melbourne and graduated from Melbourne High Schoolin 1956. Janet moved to Des Moines and attended AIB College of Business. She was united in marriage with Harlan Armentrout on September 17, 1961. She worked in food service for several years and for the Polk County Recorder's Office for 13 years before retiring in 2000.

Janet was a faithful member of the Berean Assembly of God Church. She volunteered at the Polk County Jail Ministries for many years, talking one-on-one with the female inmates about their spiritual lives.

Janet was devoted to her family. Survivors are her husband, Harlan; a brother, Jerry (Ruthann) of Vinton, IA; a son, Daniel (Gabriela) of Denver, CO; a daughter, Brenda (William) Pitt of Des Moines; three granddaughters, one great grandson,two step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
