Earl K. Lowe Earl Kenneth Lowe, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007, from complications due to lung cancer at Kavanagh House on Grand.
Earl, a lifelong resident of West Des Moines, served in the United States Navy and the Air Force Reserves and retired from Delavan Industries. He was devoted to his wife and family, and was always there to help his friends and neighbors. He created masterful woodworking projects, was a talented carpenter and was a loyal Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Earl is survived by his wife, Dolores, a daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Swanger, sons Rick DeAngelo and Vince (Gail) Valdez, as well as a sister, Nadine Wiley, all of West Des Moines, and a brother, Lawrence (Carol) Lowe of Des Moines. Earl's family also includes four grandchildren, John Swanger, Abigail and Nick Valdez, Jeremy (Meghan) Williams, two great-grandchildren, Emma and Maya Williams, his niece Diana (Scott) Hatfield, and five nephews, Larry (Nancy), Scott and David Lowe, Kenneth and Richard Newell.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Brooks Funeral Care University Chapel, 7975 University Blvd., Clive, Iowa. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007, at West Des Moines Christian Church, 4501 George Mills Civic Pkwy., in West Des Moines, with military rites at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kavanagh House and West Des Moines Christian Church. |
