Gene Cardamone, 87, died December 13, 2007.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am, Saturday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

He was born February 26, 1920 in Soveria Mannelli, Italy to Rosario and Teresina Cardamone.

Gene retired from Iowa Power after 32 years in 1985.

He loved going to the races, gardening and the outdoors. A hands on Grandpa, he loved having the entire family at his home, especially during the Holidays.

Gene will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Mary Rose; sons, Gino R. (Lisa) and John (Mary Fran); daughter, Theresa Marie (Doug) Walker; 6 grandchildren, Gino J., Natalie, Sammy, D.J., Jenna and Christina.

Mr. Cardamone was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters; Michelina Sirianni, Carmalina Cardamone, Ida Baratta and his brothers Ernesto and Carl Cardamone.

Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Friday, December 14, with a 7 pm Rosary at Brooks Funeral Care-Tonini Chapel.
