Dorothy Jane Bell, 88, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007, at Senior Suites of Urbandale. She was born on June 8, 1919 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Howard and Helen Bell. Dorothy attended Roosevelt High School in Des Moines then went on to the University of Iowa where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority Dorothy married William F. Dau on March 3, 1943 in St. Paul and following WWII, she was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed taking care of children, and her pets, especially her sheep dog, cats, and pet goat. She was a member of the Jr. League of Des Moines.

Dorothy will be missed by Chuck (Cindy) Dau of West Des Moines and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband William; daughter, Melinda; her parents, Howard and Helen; two sisters, Marjorie and Mary Helen.  Per her request, she has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
