David Dean Crooks, Sr. 67, passed away from complications from cancer at Mercy Medical Center October 21, 2007.

David was born in Des Moines October 11, 1940. He was a Trucker/Mechanic and retired from Ryko Industries. He was an Army veteran.

David is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, David Crooks, Jr. of Perry, Jeffrey Meyer of Des Moines; daughters, Stacie Etcheverry of Perry, CharLe Meyer of Des Moines; brother, Gerald Crooks of Des Moines; sister, Joan Sbicca of San Marino, California; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

David never met a stranger, he had a great love for people especially his family.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 25, at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th Street.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Brooks Funeral Care - University Chapel. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
