Joanne Caligiuri Stepleton Johnson
Joanne died October 28, at the age of 70 from complications of diabetes. She was born on June 24, 1937 to Dominic and Rosa Caligiuri.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Friday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Joanne was a former owner of the Army Post Tap and retired from Broadlawns after 20 years of service as the Substance Abuse Court Liaison for Polk County. She was a member of Bellizzi Mac Rae American Legion and Auxilliary and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Joanne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her children, Gina Stepleton, Chris Stepleton and Terri Bernstine; grandchildren, Joe, RJ, Nicole, Kikie, Montana, Miko, Jasmine and Lyndsey; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Acacia, Chastyn, Davontrey, Jayden and Xavier; and her aunt, Rose Murano and many relatives and wonderful friends. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Rosa Caligiuri; husbands, Carroll Stepleton and John Johnson; infant daughter, Theresa; sisters, Frances Friend, Theresa Caligiuri and Mary Campbell; brothers, Jim Caligiuri, Frank Caligiuri and Charlie Caligiuri. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m., Thursday with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Foundation or American Diabetes Association. |
