Virginia M. Leo, 92, died December 22, 2006.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be Wedensday from 2 to 7 P.M. (family greeting friends after 4 P.M.) with a 6:30 rosary at Tonini Chapel.

Virginia was born the daughter of James and Elizabeth Alessio on August 16, 1914, in Des Moines. On March 25, 1939, she married Thomas P. Leo at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Virginia and her late husband made their home in Des Moines, where she was a homemaker. For many years she was an active member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, and St. Theresa’s Rosary Societies.

Virginia will be missed by her daughter, Toni (Bob) Casber of Linden, Iowa and her son Tom (Kathy) of Des Moines. Grandchildren, Christopher (Kelli) Dougherty, Mark and Anthony Leo, Michelle (Scott) Morlan, Scott (Susan) Casber, Vanda (Bob) Mead, and eight great-grandchildren. A brother, Joe (Katie) Alessio; brother-in-law, Louis Leo, and many nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Tony and sisters, Rose, Carrie Sergio, Gladys (John) Ford, Mary (Jack) Oliver.

Memorials to honor Virginia may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Theresa’s Catholic Church or Iowa Hospice.
