Robert "Bob" Woody, 69, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th St. His funeral service will be 10 :30 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2006 at West Des Moines Christian Church, 4501 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines. Following the service, it was his wish to be cremated and private burial of his cremains will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Bob was born in St. Joseph, MO, on January 18, 1937, and had lived in West Des Moines most of his life. He worked at Roy's Motor Service and was a member of the Eagle's Lodge #109. Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, country dancing and working on his farm. He will be missed by his daughters, Kimberly Ray (Jeffrey) of Phoenix, AZ, Ruth Woody (James Ward) and Terry Weir both of Houston, TX; mother, Anita 'Nidy' K. Woody of West Des Moines; brothers, Jon Woody of West Des Moines and Gary Woody of Council Bluffs and his grandsons, Brandt Carlson, Cameron Weir and Ethan Ward.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis; father, John Walter 'Walt' Woody and brother, Allen W. Woody.

Friends may call Friday, October 6, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House, 900-56th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50312.
