Robert 'Bobby' Funk, 83, entered his eternal life from complications of open heart surgery at the VA Hospital on December 29, 2006.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Commerce Community Church, 4007 High Street, West Des Moines, Iowa. Family will greet friends following the service for a time of food and fellowship. Burial will be at a later date in Hamilton, Iowa. He was born in Lovillia, Iowa and had lived in Indianola before moving to West Des Moines in 1969. He had worked as a used car salesman at Betts Cadillac for 19 years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, member of Commerce Community Church and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and volunteered many hours at his church.

He will be missed by his wife, Dorothy (Williamson) who he was united in marriage on July 24, 1944 in West Des Moines; son, Robert Martin and wife Judy; grandson, Brett and wife Michele; great grandchildren, Jennifer and Bryson all of Longmont, CO and his nieces and nephews, Carol, Sandra, Vicki, Kathy, Tammy, Ricky, Melinda and PJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lula Funk; brothers, Floyd, Bill and Donny and his sister, Viola.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to his church.
