Richard A. Cunitz, 67, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2006, at Westkirk Presbyterian Church, 2700 Colby Woods Drive in Urbandale. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Dick was born in Terrytown, New York. He had lived in West Des Moines and for the last eight years, he had resided in Clive. He was the President and CEO of Mrs. Clark's Foods until his retirement in 1995. He was an Elder at Westkirk Presbyterian Church and board member and treasurer for Child Evangelism Fellowship for the Heartland and State Chapters. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 42 years, Kay Cunitz; his son David of Clive; daughter Karen (Robert) Stopek of Adel; three grandchildren, Heather (Bobby) Huntoon, Amanda Stopek and Jeffrey Stopek, all of Adel; brother, Herbert C. (Thea) Cunitz of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lydia Cunitz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his church or to Child Evangelism Fellowship.
