Marcia Cameron
Marcia was a partner at Rural American Graphics for thirty years where she worked as a commercial photographer, multi-media production artist, and computer illustrator. In addition to her commercial work, she was an accomplished fiber artist. Marcia exhibited her weavings and basketry at several Des Moines area galleries and was the fiber arts guest artist at the Iowa State Fair. Marcia was active in the Cedar Valley Boxer Club for many years and was a member of the "Bag Lady Prevention Society" investment club. She was an avid horseracing fan, enjoyed gardening, and family projects. Marcia is survived by her daughter Cameron Cook of Des Moines; mother, Norma Cameron of Mitchell, SD; sister Maureen (Perry) Struse of Des Moines; brothers James Cameron Jr. (Sue) of Phoenix, AZ; Greg Cameron (Marcia) of Richmond, VA; Todd Cameron (Peggy) of Dallas, TX; ten nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George in April and her father, James in August 2006. Her family and many friends will miss her gentle soul and wicked sense of humor. Services will be held at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd. The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 24 with the funeral services following.
