Kim Hanley, 49, entered her eternal life on October 9, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church with a 7 p.m. wake service. Inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa

Kim was born on October 28, 1956 to Russell and Dixie Rogers. She spent most of her childhood in Des Moines, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. She attended Iowa State University and Nebraska Wesleyan University for two years. She was married to Mark Hanley in 1984, and had two children.

Kim was an avid equestrian rider, and was a member of the Iowa-Nebraska Hunter Jumper Association earlier in her life. She was voted Horse of the Year, Second Year Green on Billy Van. Kim worked in sales for most of her life, and most recently worked for Business Performance Group. She was a national sales representative, and sold training programs to various companies around the country. Kim was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and daughter. She was meticulous regarding yard work and gardening, and could always be seen in her yard raking and planting flowers. Kim was the life of the party, a social butterfly, and was greatly loved by many for her courageous spirit and zest for life.

Kim is survived by her two children, Casey Hanley of Chicago, IL; Jon Kelly Hanley of Des Moines, IA; her mother, Dixie Reed Rogers of West Des Moines, IA. and brother Tom (Cheryl) Rogers of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Rogers.

Kim will be dearly missed by her two children, mother, and close friends and family. We will carry you in our hearts forever.
