Janalee Reed, 83, passed away from complications following a stroke, on October 9, 2006, at Taylor House Hospice. Funeral services will be at 1p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 4703 Douglas Ave, Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be on Wednesday, 6 to 8.p.m. at Brooks Funeral Care, University Chapel. Internment will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

Janalee was born in Kewanee, MO, and spent most of her years in Des Moines. She had worked at Younkers Department Store. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 63 years, Elbert; her son Ken (Joy) Reed of Tabernacle, NJ; her daughter Barbara (Chet) Chester of Missouri Valley, IA; her brother, Howard Twitty of Missouri; her sister Jewel Houseman of Rock Island, IL; her eight grandchildren and her 18 great-grandchildren.
