James Crowley, 67, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2006, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. vigil at the parish center. Internment will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Jim was born in Adel on October 25, 1938 to James F. Crowley and Rose (Tiernan) Crowley.

Jim was a retired fireman for the Des Moines Fire Department. He was an avid golfer and sportsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and a lively member of the Over 50's Group.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Judie; his two daughters, Jennie (Dave) Schinkel and Julie Crowley; his son, Jim (Linda) Crowley; his five granddaughters, Paige, Alyssa, Brianna, Lyndsie and Sydney; his three sisters, Kathleen (James) Duggan, Margaret (Gene) McKelvey and Frances (Dennis) Beinecke; his four brothers, Philip (Cindy) Crowley, Jerry (Alice) Crowley, Bob (Mary) Crowley and Pat Crowley; his brother-in-law, Jack Schmidt, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Schmidt.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society or to St. Theresa's Catholic Church.
