Alice "Aunt Teen" Playle, 88, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006. Alice was interred in a private burial at Glendale Cemetery on that same day. A memorial service for her will be scheduled at a later date; friends and family will be notified of the date and time.

Alice was born on September 25, 1918 in Batavia, Iowa to Peggy and Slim Hoffman, then moved to Des Moines where she graduated high school. After her graduation, she went to work for Frye Manufacturing, where she worked for many years. She also worked for C & H Home Service, but retired from F. Brody & Sons, where she worked for 28 years as an accountant.

She is survived by her nephew Richard Keasey, niece Barbara Keasey, niece Linda Cronin and her niece, Rose Houston, who described her as the most glamorous and fun aunt she could have had.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
