Wilma Mitchell, 89, died suddenly at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on August 4, 2005. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2005 at Adel United Methodist Church, following the luncheon, burial will be in the Panther Creek Cemetery.

Wilma was born in Ames, but had lived in Adel since 1945. She was a graduate of Ankeny High School and Capital City Community College. She last worked for Dallas County Farm Bureau from 1964 to 1985. She was a member of Adel United Methodist Church, TAS Women's Social Group and was a member of the church choir for many years.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Bill Mitchell of Adel; daughter, Mary (Billy) Irons of Lee's Summit, MO; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ireland and Robert Irons; three great-grandchildren, Anna, Caleb and Bethany Ireland; and a sister, Frances Rothfus of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wilbur and Mellie Olson Leaf; and son, Jack Mitchell.

Family will greet friends following service at the church for a time of food and fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
