Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Ames, for Tom, who died September 7, 2005.

Tom was a graduate of Stratford High School. He graduated from Simpson College in 1959, and received his Masters from ISU. He was a teacher, coach, athletic director and piano player. He served on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Donor Network and was an advocate for organ donation. Tom received a liver transplant in 1989, and was a living donor kidney recipient in February of 2005. At his death, he was an eye donor.

Tom will be missed by his wife of 38 years, Jane; his daughter, Julie Jorgensen and Nate Schneider; his daughter, Becky and Tim Eberhart; his two grandson's, Henry Thomas and Frederick Daniel; Ron "Bear" Green; his brother, Dick and Jean Jorgensen; and his sister, Mary Ann Holliday.

A visitation with the family and prayer service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m., with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tom Jorgensen Memorial Fund.
