Robert K. Watkins, 68, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Taylor House due to complications from cancer. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 11. 2005 in the Mansion at Wesley Acres.

Robert was born in Boone, grew up in Ames and had spent the last 40 years in Ankeny. He worked in the construction industry before retiring in 2002. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was an advanced ham radio operator.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra Anne Watkins; son, John (LuAnne) Watkins; daughter, Jackie (Shawn) Flynn; grandchildren, Stephanie, Megan and Breanna Flynn and Sikol (Alecia) Lleshi; great-grandchild, Melody Lleshi; and brother, Don (Mary) Watkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Edna Watkins.
