Ronald A. Capps Ronald A. Capps, 75, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines, IA. No services are planned at this time. Ron was born October 10, 1929 in Des Moines, IA to John and Aleta Capps. Ron worked at Bankers Life while earning his accounting degree at Drake University. After graduation, he served in the US Marine Corps as a Pilot and Flight Instructor, ending his services with the Iowa Air National Guard. Ron worked as an accountant for Meredith Corporation and retired from General Growth Properties. After retirement, Ron volunteered at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. Ron was an avid runner and loved the outdoors, sports and music. Go Hawkeyes! He is survived by his son, Craig Capps of Grand Lake, CO; daughters, Kelli Capps and Carol Bruce, both of Urbandale, IA and Diane Blackburn of Croton, OH; and grandchildren, Tanner Bruce of Urbandale, IA and Shella, Molly, and Ross Blackburn of Croton, OH. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, John and Aleta Capps and a sister, Roberta "Bobbie Capps" Lavine. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines or the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. |
